I bought a growler of this Sixpoint porter at a neat store called New Beer Distributors in lower Manhattan. Gorilla Warfare is opaque – dark brown with a tan head. The beer smells of coffee and chocolate. As you down a gulp you are greeted with a creamy consistency and a little bit of carbonation. The malts are sweet and are balanced nicely with the hops that take over later. The aftertaste consists of a dry bitterness coupled with coffee. Alcohol content is well hidden. This porter is quite a treat.
