This was the third and final beer I tried at the Samuel Adams Brewery. Somehow it won the “Beer Lovers Choice” contest for 2008 in which home brewers submit beers they’ve made for a chance to be mass produced by Sam Adams. The Blackberry Witbier pours a cloudy gold hue with frothy head. The blackberry flavor dominates and makes the beer very sweet. Coriander and orange peel flavors exist as well. There’s some fizziness, but it’s not heavily carbonated. The finish features mostly sweet berries and some tartness. I’d probably avoid this beer in the future. The other submissions must have been really awful for this to be the winner.
